Welcome to our Website
7th Jan – WE ARE OPEN.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
Thank you for your support and understanding over the last couple of days. We are planning for school to be OPEN for staff and pupils on Wednesday 7th January. However, there is still some residual slush/standing water and temperatures are set to drop overnight so we will be carrying out an assessment of the site at 7am and notify you of any changes via Class Dojo. We are aiming to OPEN the school site though. Thank you once again for your cooperation. Diolch ❤️
**IMPORTANT UPDATE**
The school will remain CLOSED to pupils and staff tomorrow on Tuesday 6th January following an assessment of the school site and issues with transport routes to school. Thank you for support in this challenging weather. Diolch ❤️
***Important***
We have been monitoring the weather and there is further adverse weather forecast for Ammanford. For health and safety reasons – school will be CLOSED for both staff and children tomorrow (5th Jan.) We appreciate your support in ensuring the safety of all.
“Caring for your child. Sharing in their future”
It gives me great pleasure to present to you, via this website, some information about Ammanford Nursery School. The purpose of this information is to enable you to have an understanding of the life and ethos of the school.
Here at Ammanford Nursery School, we recognise that a productive home/school relationship is vital, in order to foster a sense of partnership between parents and teachers and to ensure the best possible learning environment for your child.
Ammanford Nursery School is a happy school, and this stems from the opportunities that are afforded to all. Participation and success in many endeavours, enables pupils, parents, staff, governors, the community and the Local Education Authority to be justifiably proud of their association with the school.
The aim of the school is to develop the child to be an independent learner in an environment which encourages self-discipline and self-respect.
We currently offer full time places but from January 2026 all new starters will be part time. These places will be 12.5 hours and the hours of these sessions will be 9am-11.30am. There will be a free breakfast club available from 8am which children can access. We will not be offering a wrap around provision at the moment.
I look forward to welcoming you and your child to Ammanford Nursery School.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs Emma Parfitt – Head teacher
